do you want me to take off my shirt?

Jackie and her bridesmaid met me for lunch to talk about photographing her wedding. We hit it off immediately. Nearly three hours and three iced teas later, I felt like we had known each other for years and I would be documenting the wedding of a childhood friend. I can’t wait to meet Wilson, I told Jackie. He sounds like a really cool guy.

Fast forward, two weeks later. Jackie and Wilson are meeting us underneath the Newport Beach pier for their engagement photos. She’s absolutely gorgeous. And he… was absolutely hilarious. Do you want me to take off my shirt? What? Seriously? And before I could scream yes and risk sounding a little creepy, I looked at Jackie hoping for the silent okay. But what she gave me was the absolutely H-E-double hockey sticks headshake. Bummer. So I had to defer his question (which sounded more like a request) with a maybe later.

Twenty minutes later. Do you want me to take off my shirt, now? I can roll in the sand for you.

Oh Wilson. How I wish all my clients were as willing and daring as you.
